Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is seen in a mood to cross with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is in power at the Centre. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray appeared in an aggressive manner in the assembly on Friday. Uddhav Thackeray fiercely attacked the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Uddhav lashed out at the BJP for forming the government with Mehbooba Mufti in Jammu and Kashmir, along with the allegations against Nawab Malik regarding his relationship with Dawood Ibrahim.
Attacking BJP, Uddhav Thackeray said, “If you want to form the government in Maharashtra and I am coming in the middle then put me behind the bars but do not defame the families. You are abusing power. I am ready to go to jail.” He said, “defaming the families will not affect us. You are making a list of accused and giving it to the agencies. You are the complainant, you are the investigator. We have faith in law and judiciary and we will face it.”
Uddhav Thackeray said, “The way you have attacked my family and (want to) put me in jail…What is the use of exposing all these things? Court sees proof and decides…Put me in jail, I am not Krishna but can you say that you are not Kans?” From the beginning of the assembly session, Uddhav responded strongly to the opposition’s uproar over the demand for the resignation of Nawab Malik.
He asked whether the central agencies were sleeping when Nawab Malik contested, won and became a minister. “One thing that amazes me is that the central agencies are so hollow that Nawab Malik, who, according to you, is Dawood’s henchman, travelled all over Mumbai and the country and was elected four or five times. What were agencies doing,” he asked.
The CM of Maharashtra accused the BJP of doing politics in the name of Dawood and said, “When the late Gopinath Munde was the deputy chief minister, he used to say, we will get Dawood. Now, Dawood is taking us behind him. We are looking for his accomplices. Did Obama ask for votes in Osama’s name? They sent troops and broke into bin Laden’s house. This is called manhood”.
He added, “Till these many years, you asked for votes in the name of Ram Mandir, now are you going to get votes on Dawood’s name? Just like Obama killed Osama, you kill Dawood. You do nothing, you accuse us. I honestly say we are against traitors. There is no quarrel about that. You are demanding Malik’s resignation. Mehbooba Mufti opposed the execution of Afzal Guru and you (BJP) formed a government with her.”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said about his picture with an accused “Tomorrow, if someone has a photo with Modi, will you say that even he has a connection with the accused?” Uddhav Thackeray alleged undeclared emergency in the country and said that Indira Gandhi had imposed emergency in the country, which can be debated about right or wrong, but today the situation is worrying.
