According to the information received, income tax raids have also been conducted at the residence of Brijesh Mishra, editor in chiefof the TV channel and UP chief Virendra Singh.
It is being told that Income Tax teams have raided the Vipul Khand residence in Gomti Nagar of Brijesh Mishra. Bharat Samachar has been in the news for its journalism for the past few months. The coverage of this channel on ‘mismanagement’ during the second wave of Corona in Uttar Pradesh and violence in the recent Panchayat elections was in the news.
Earlier on Thursday morning, there was news of Income Tax Department raids on several offices of Dainik Bhaskar newspaper across the country. According to sources, raids have been conducted at 35 places belonging to Bhaskar Group. This includes offices from Delhi to Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra. At present, no statement has come out from Dainik Bhaskar Group or Income Tax Department on the whole matter.
According to sources, the Bhaskar Group is accused of tax evasion. However, questions are also being raised regarding the operation of the raid. Recently, during the second wave of Corona pandemic, many reports of Dainik Bhaskar, describing the horrific situation in the country, were in discussion.
