Former IPS and Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi is reportedly facing backlash over a joke on the Sikh community. Not only this, LG Kiran Bedi has also apologized on this issue as the controversy escalated. In fact, during the release of a book in Chennai on Monday, Kiran Bedi cracked a ’12 o clock’ joke on the Sikh community.
The video of her remark went viral viral. Not only this, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of Punjab caught the issue and attacked Kiran Bedi. AAP said that this comment of Kiran Bedi is like making fun of Sikhs and it is an embarrassing thing.
Jarnail Singh, Punjab in -charge of the Aam Aadmi Party, tweeted, “When the Mughals were robbing this country. When the women were kidnapping, the Sikhs fought them. Was worked to save sisters and daughters. The time was to attack the Mughals. This is our history. Such leaders are ashamed, who make fun of Sikhs.”
Not only this, he also demanded Kiran Bedi to apologize for this comment. AAP chief spokesperson in Punjab, Malvinder Singh Kang said, “I feel pity for Kiran Bedi. If she has no knowledge about Sikh history.”
However, seeing the controversy growing, Kiran Bedi has apologized. She said, “I have highest regards for my community. I am a devotee of Baba Nanak Dev ji. What I said to the audience even at my own cost (as I also belong here) be kindly not misread. I seek forgiveness for this. I am the last person to cause any hurt. I believe in Seva & loving kindness.”
Let us tell that Kiran Bedi has also contested the assembly elections of Delhi and BJP made her CM candidate. Kiran Bedi, who was famous as a female IPS officer, is currently the Governor of Puducherry.
