Sanjay Raut sees Hitler & Mussolini in Modi govt, claims Stan Swamy was killed in jail

Shiv Sena has strongly criticized the central government over the custodial death of activist Stan Swamy, arrested in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist link case. In Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece ‘Saamana’, party spokesperson and MP Sanjay Raut has said that this is a murder in custody. He has written that the Modi government is doing dictatorship and its heart is weak like that of Mussolini and Hitler.

Sanjay Raut has written in his column that the Modi government is working like the Indira Gandhi government. Indira Gandhi was afraid of George Fernandes but at least George was a young leader not as old as Father Stan Swamy. The present government is afraid of the elderly of 84-85 years, who could not walk properly.

Sanjay Raut says- A government that is scared of an 84-year-old man is dictatorial in attitude but weak in the heart like Hitler’s and Mussolini’s. We do not support the activities of the Elgar Parishad but what happened later should be seen as a conspiracy to curtail independence. We may not agree with this ideology of Maoists and Naxalites but Swamy’s death in custody cannot be justified. Is the foundation of the country so weak that it can be threatened by a man of 84 years? Can he overthrow the government with this?

Let us inform you that Stan Swamy was accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist liaison case. He was lodged in Taloja jail since his arrest in October 2020. The NIA had accused Stan Swamy of being involved in the 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence case and having links with Naxalites. He was charged with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). He died last week after deteriorating health.
