We warn you stop imposing Hindi.” Now the actor has openly supported Gujarat’s independent MLA Jignesh Mevani, who has been arrested for the second time by the Assam police on 25 April.

Now Prakash Raj has openly supported MLA Jignesh Mevani on the matter. Taking to his Twitter handle, the ‘Singham’ actor wrote – “Godse is the first Indian terrorist of independent india who killed our Mahatma Gandhi .. shame on the leaders who have Godse in their hearts and Gandhi on their lips arm twisting dissent .. Stay strong @jigneshmevani80 truth will prevail #justasking”
Mevani was arrested by Assam police on April 20 from Palanpur in a case related to an “objectionable” tweet against PM Narendra Modi. After spending three days in police custody and one day in judicial custody, he was granted bail on April 25. He was soon rearrested by Barpeta police and charged with assaulting a woman officer.

Significantly, GRANTING BAIL to Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani, arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman police officer while in custody, a court in Assam’s Barpeta district on Friday pulled up the state police for lodging a “false FIR” and “abusing the process of the court and the law”. It also warned the Assam Police against “converting our hard earned democracy into a police state”.
