“They have tweeted over rising fuel prices in the past, which was fair. But this time when the prices have crossed Rs 100, why are they quiet and not asking anything?” Jagtap replied when asked about the letter.

“In 2012, Amitabh Bachchan tweeted about rising fuel prices. At that time the price of petrol was Rs 63 per liter. Then why is he not tweeting now?”, he added.

On Wednesday, Mumbai Congress workers, led by Jagtap Bhai, rallied outside the Metro Mall on Western Express Highway in Borivali against the rising fuel prices.

In Mumbai, where petrol prices crossed the Rs 100 per litre mark for the first time ever on Saturday (May 29), the fuel price remained at new high of Rs 100.72 per litre. Diesel price also continues to be at Rs 92.69 a litre, the highest among metros.
