FIR registered against BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for making shoddy remarks against Prophet Mohammad in Mumbai

A case has been registered against BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma in Maharashtra. She is accused of making controversial remarks against Prophet Muhammad. She reportedly made objectionable remarks against Prophet Mohammad on the national channel. After this, a complaint has been registered against her on the complaint of Sunni Barelvi organization Raza Academy.

Police said that a case has been registered against Nupur Sharma for hurting religious sentiments, spreading hatred and making remarks against other religions. A case has been registered against Nupur Sharma under sections 295A, 153A, 505B.

Actually, Nupur Sharma had come to participate in the debate of a private TV channel. This debate was on Gyanvapi Masjid of Varanasi. It is alleged that during this time she made controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad. Since then there is a demand for action against her.

In fact, during the debate, Nupur Sharma had reportedly said that if people are constantly making fun of Hindu faith, then she can do the same with Islam. After this, she allegedly mentioned an incident related to Prophet Mohammad in a derogatory manner. The video of her statement went viral on social media.

Who is Nupur Sharma?

BJP leader Nupur Sharma came into the limelight after contesting against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. She was a BJP candidate in the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections. Presently she is a member of State Executive Committee of BJP Delhi. She has also been the President of Delhi University Students’ Union. She was the only candidate from AVBP to win the student union election in 2008.
