ENG vs IND 2nd ODI highlights: A confident Indian team suffered a humiliating 100-run defeat at the historic ground at Lord’s. England leveled the series 1-1 after winning the second ODI played on Friday night. Now the last and final match of the series will be played on 16 July i.e. Sunday. Batting first after losing the toss, England had put 246 runs on the scoreboard. But the Indian innings was reduced to only 146 runs in front of the bowling of pacer Reece Topley. Topley gave the best ODI performance of any English pacer at Lord’s, taking 6 wickets.

While chasing 247 runs, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan both gave poor starts for India. Rohit could not even open his account while Dhawan went on scoring 9 runs. There was a lot of hope from Virat Kohli that he would do something after making a comeback in the ODI series, but he too got out after scoring 16 runs in 25 balls. Topley took 2 wickets and Virat Kohli was run by Willie.

The Indian team suffered a setback when Rishabh Pant was also run on the score of zero. Here India was completely trapped as their four wickets had gone for just 31 runs. In such a situation, a partnership was needed, which Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya also did but Suryakumar Yadav, despite being in good touch, got bowled by Topley. He scored 27 runs in 29 balls before being dismissed.

It was followed by Hardik’s number who went on to make 29 runs off 40 balls. This was followed by a small partnership between Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami. The 39-run partnership was done by Topley, who made Shami walk.

Tople also made Chahal and the Prasidh Krishna walk.
