ED raids places of Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s close relatives

ED has cracked down on close relatives of Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi. Continuous raids are going on at about 10 places of close relatives of CM Channi. ED has conducted raids against illegal sand mining companies in Punjab in connection with money laundering. Since Tuesday morning, raids are going on at 10 places of Chief Minister’s nephew Bhupendra Singh Honey. Politics has intensified in Punjab after the raid.

Congress has called it an election gamble of the BJP-led central government. At the same time, Congress’s media in-charge in Punjab elections, Alka Lamba tweeted that BJP government uses CBI, ED and IT raids during elections. Even before this, similar action has been taken at the locations of many leaders just before the elections.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has reacted sharply to the action of ED. He tweeted, “Conducting an ED raid is BJP’s favourite weapon because they themselves have things to hide. Not everyone is like you. We have #NoFear.”

Punjab Police had registered a case for illegal sand mining in 2018. Based on that, the case was taken over by the ED. According to preliminary investigation, an accused named Kudratjit was detected. After interrogation, Bhupinder Singh Honey was the facilitator. It was told. Since then, the ED has reached Bhupinder Singh Honey.
