Despite all the controversies, JNU secures 2nd, Jamia Millia Islamia 3rd in NIRF ranking

Like every year, this time also NIRF Rankings 2022 has been released. The surprising thing in the latest rankings is that JNU and Jamia University, which have always been targeted a particular section of people across the country, have again maintained their dominance in the top ranks.

In the Best University category, IISc Bangalore is at the first, JNU second and Jamia Millia Islamia University at the third position. Jamia Millia has maintained its quality even in the midst of all the controversies. Last year, Jamia was ranked 6th in the list of top 10 universities.

NIRF Ranking 2022

In the year 2022 also, IIT Madras has been adjudged the best educational institute in the country in the overall category. On the other hand, IISc Bangalore is at second place and IIT Bombay is at third place. Whereas BHU, which was ranked third last year, has slipped to the sixth position this time.

In the best college category, 5 out of the top 10 colleges are from Delhi University. Miranda House has become the best college in the country for the sixth time. It is followed by Hindu College at second position and Presidency College at third place. Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College, St. Stephen’s College, Hindu College and Shri Ram College of Commerce are among the top 10 colleges across the country.

After the release of the NIRF Rankings 2022 rankings, Jamia University administration said that Jamia has significantly improved its NIRF rankings from last year, a method adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India to rank higher education institutions in the country.

Expressing happiness over the excellent performance of the University, Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, Jamia said that this achievement is even more significant as both the country and the University are facing challenging times due to the COVID-19 pandemic and increasing competition in the rankings.
