Umran Malik clocks 157km/h: In the 50th match of IPL 2022 against Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Umran Malik bowled the fastest ball of the season and 2nd fastest ball of IPL history. Earlier Umran Malik had bowled the fastest ball against Chennai Super Kings with a speed of 154 kmph, but today he has bowled 154.8 then 156 and 157 kmph against Delhi Capitals, breaking his own record. Umran’s dream was to bowl at a speed of 155 kmph, which he has accomplished today.

Umran Malik broke the record of 154 kmph in the 12th over and bowled at 154.8 kmph. After this, in the last over of the innings, he bowled at the speed of 155 and 157 kmph, although Powell hit him for fours on both these balls. Powell took 19 runs from the last over of Umran Malik. Umran Malik spent 52 runs in his quota of 4 overs without taking a wicket.

This season has been great for Umran Malik so far. He has taken 15 wickets in 10 matches. But he has not been able to take a single wicket in the last two matches. Against Chennai Super Kings too, he spent 48 runs in four overs without taking a wicket.

The record for the fastest bowler in the IPL is held by Shaun Tait of Australia, who made this record in 2011 at a speed of 157.71 kmph.

Talking about the competition, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Kane Williamson has won the toss in this match and elected to bowl first. Delhi Capitals opener and former Hyderabad player David Warner has proved Williamson’s decision wrong. Warner played an unbeaten knock of 92 runs in this match, while Rovman Powell scored an unbeaten 67, a century partnership for the fourth wicket between the two players. Delhi has set a target of 208 runs in front of Hyderabad.
