India’s rising wrestler Deepak Punia defeated Pakistan’s wrestler Muhammad Inam to win the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games. This is India’s 24th medal in the Commonwealth Games 2022. India has so far got 9 Gold, 8 Silver and 7 Bronze medals.
India’s Deepak Punia defeated Pakistan’s Muhammad Inam to win the gold medal in the 86 kg gram category. He maintained the 3-0 lead till the end and won the medal.
Deepak made a great start and tried to slam the Pakistani player but the Inam did not allow this bet to succeed. Both the players kept trying continuously but none got success. Deepak, however, managed to take one point. The Pakistani wrestler was playing defensive and hence he was warned of passivity by the referee and one point also awarded to Deepak. The Indian wrestler went with a 2-0 lead in the first round.
In the second round, Inam was again defensive and was seen running away from Deepak’s bet. Deepak again took another point which made the score 3-0.
