India has got its fifth gold medal in wrestling in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. One of India’s big hopes and superstar wrestler Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in the 53 kg category.

Veteran wrestler Vinesh won all three of her matches in this category of matches from the ‘Nordic format’ and thus won the gold by securing the most points. In this way, Vinesh completed a brilliant hat-trick by winning the gold medal in the Commonwealth Games for the third time in a row.

Vinesh had earlier won gold in the 2014 Glasgow Games in 48 kg, while the 2018 Gold Coast Games won gold in 50 kg. After this, now won gold in CWG for the third time in 53 kg. Not only this, Vinesh would have reduced the disappointment of last year’s Tokyo Olympics to some extent. She was a contender in Tokyo, but could not win. Now a year later, she has won an important medal.
