Covid threat on IPL 2022: Covid has again hit the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL-2022). Recently, Delhi Capitals physio Patrick Farhart was found to be Corona positive. Due to this, now the entire Delhi team has been quarantined.

The team’s next match is to be held in Pune. For this the team had to leave, but they have been stopped in the hotel itself. Now all the players will have a corona test in turn for two days. Only after that a decision will be taken.

Delhi’s next match against Punjab on April 20

According to the report of Cricbuzz, Delhi Capitals team captained by Rishabh Pant has to play its next match against Punjab Kings (PBKS). This match will be played on 20 April at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. For this match, the Delhi team was to leave for Pune on April 18 itself, but the team has been quarantined in its hotel in Mumbai itself.

One player also got positive in rapid test

Recently, Delhi team physio Patrick Farhart was found to be Corona positive. According to reports, after Patrick, a player of the Delhi team has also been found positive in the rapid antigen test. This player is being told foreign. This has been the reason that the Delhi franchise has taken this big step. Now RT-PCR test will be done for all the players for two days. Only then will a decision be taken.

The last IPL season also started in India, which was suspended on May 4 due to Corona pandemic. Till then there were only 29 matches in the league. In the last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) wicket-keeper batsman Wriddhiman Saha and Delhi Capitals spinner Amit Mishra were found to be Corona positive. Due to this the IPL was suspended midway.

Later, the BCCI successfully organized the remaining matches in the UAE. Due to Covid, the 2020 season of IPL was also conducted in UAE. All these IPL seasons during Covid were conducted in Bio-bubble.
