Enforcement Directorate (ED) has said in the chargesheet that conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar ‘spoofed’ the office number of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to befriend actress Jacqueline Fernandez and claimed that he belongs to the “political family” of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. ED has given this information in the chargesheet.
According to media reports, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a charge sheet in the Rs 200 crore money laundering case. It also mentions Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi. It has been told in the chargesheet that how the conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar contacted Jacqueline for friendship. According to media reports, the agency said that Sukesh Chandrashekhar had made a “spoof” call copying the office number of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to befriend actor Jacqueline Fernandez.
ED recorded Fernandez’s statement twice in which she said that Chandrashekhar had introduced himself as Shekhar Ratna Vela. The agency had earlier this month filed a chargesheet before a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court and named Chandrashekhar, his wife Leena Maria Paul and six others.
ED has filed a chargesheet in Patiala House Court against Sukesh for allegedly duping Aditi Singh, wife of former Ranbaxy promoter Shivinder Singh, to the tune of Rs 200 crore. The chargesheet claimed that Sukesh gave expensive gifts to Fernandez and actress Nora Fatehi, which were part of the proceeds of the crime.
ED said that Sukesh Chandrashekhar was in touch with Jacqueline till her arrest and provided various gifts to her and her family members, arranged chartered flights for her to fly within India and stay at hotels, cash payments to a scriptwriter on (her) behalf, all these expenses/payments were made by Sukesh Chandrasekhar from proceeds of crime acquired through criminal activities relating to a scheduled offence.
At the same time, ED claimed that Jacqueline Fernandez has told during interrogation that she received 3 Gucci and Chanel designer bags, 2 Gucci outfits for gym wear, one pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings and multicolored stones. Gifted a bracelet and two Hermes bracelets. Along with this, she also received a Mini Cooper, which she has returned.
ED further said that Sukesh had gifted a BMW car to Nora Fatehi in December 2020. ED said Sukesh’s wife Leena Maria Paul had claimed that she and her husband were fans of Fatehi, and they have gifted her a new BMW car as a token of love and generosity.
