Congress defector Jaiveer Shergill once called BJP “British Stooge” joins saffron party

Former Congress leader Jaiveer Shergill has joined the BJP. Shergill had resigned from the Congress in August. The BJP has made Shergill the national spokesperson of the party.

Shergill used to attack BJP very aggressively while in Congress. At the same time, he has been making serious allegations against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which is called the parent organization of the BJP.

Old video went viral
Congress leader and national president of National Youth Congress BV Srinivas has shared an old video of Jaiveer Shergir on Twitter after he joined BJP.

Then Jaiveer Shergill replied to Hegde on behalf of the Congress and said, “Mahatma Gandhi does not want a certificate of patriotism from the organization which was the spy of the whites(British) and the stooge of the government of the whites(British), Anant Hegde comes from the organization which opposed the tricolor, the Constitution, those who opposed the Quit India Movement.”

Now after joining BJP, Jaiveer Shergill’s tone has changed. Talking to the media, he said, “It is my good fortune that today I have been appointed as the national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the world’s largest party. First of all, I thank the country’s successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, BJP National President JP Nadda ji and Home Minister Amit Shah ji from the bottom of my heart.”

He added, “Today is an important day because today I am moving from negative politics to positive politics. I am going from darkness to light. From Chamchagiri path, I am going towards the path of duty. Today I am joining the party that will build the country.”
