“Bollywood that crawls when asked to bend given Y+ security”; Mahua Moitra lashes out at IT raids on Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap

Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra on Monday lashed out at the Income Tax department for raiding the homes of Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu and director Anurag Kashyap. Mahua Moitra has tweeted that the government cheers those who bow before them and those who support the farmers have to face the Raids.

On Wednesday, the homes of Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee in Mumbai were raided. The house of producer Madhu Mandena was also raided. The Income Tax Department visited the houses of the three in a tax evasion case related to Phantom Films.

Mahua Moitra extends support Taapsee and Anurag Kashyap

TMC MP Mahua Moitra tweeted “The Y-plus category will provide security to some of the Bollywood who preferred to crawl when they are asked to bend over but the Income Tax Department raid on Bollywood people who stand firm with the farmers.”

Phantom Films was a production and distribution company started by Anurag Kashyap, director Vikramaditya Motwani and Madhu Mandena. The company, which started in 2011, ceased operations in 2018.

Anurag Kashyap and Taapsee Pannu have come out to criticize the various measures taken by the central government. They had publicly protested against the Citizenship Amendment Act and the Agricultural laws.

Actress Swara Bhaskar came on stage to congratulate Taapsee after the raid by the Income Tax. Swara Bhaskar came to the scene with congratulations after the Income Tax Department raid on Taapsee’s house. The compliment came via Twitter.

Swara’s tweet starts by saying that this is a congratulatory tweet for Taapsee.
Swara wrote that it is rare to see such a brave and confident girl nowadays and that Taapsee is the girl who surprised him. The tweet ended by saying that stand strong is a fighter.
