On Monday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the General Budget of 2021-22 in Parliament. During the budget, the Finance Minister announced the imposition of agricultural cess on diesel and petrol. According to the general budget, the government has imposed agricultural cess of Rs 4 per liter on diesel and Rs 2.5 per liter of agricultural cess on petrol. Although the government has said that this will not affect the pockets of the people, but their own leaders are not able to accept this.

BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has taunted the government for imposing agricultural cess on petrol and diesel. Subramaniam Swamy shared a photo on Twitter. In the photo, the prices of petrol have been compared to other countries. In this picture, Swamy has written that petrol price in Rama’s India is Rs. 93, Sita’s Nepal Rs. 53 per liter and Ravan’s Sri Lanka it’s Rs 51 per liter. Let s tell you that the price of petrol in Delhi these days is 86 rupees per liter. At the same time, the price of diesel is also 76 rupees. It costs even more in Mumbai.

However, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that with the increase in agricultural cess on petrol and diesel, the basic excise duty and addition excise duty rate have been reduced. Due to this, there will be no additional burden of agricultural cess on the customers.
