BJP leader Krishna Kumar recently visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi with his two daughters. He has posted some pictures on social media, which are currently causing headlines on social media. The pictures are being discussed because two daughters of actor Krishnakumar are wearing hijabs. They are smiling and posing for the camera. Krishnakumar has posted these pictures on his Facebook page. These pictures have been posted at a time when there is a controversy going on in India regarding Hijab and the court has declared Hijab as unreligious.
The BJP government in Karnataka had banned the wearing of hijab in schools/colleges, after which the matter caught fire and a controversy arose. This decision of the government was challenged in the court by the Muslim organization but the court rejected it.
The protests against hijab-wearing Muslim students began in January and soon spread to other BJP-ruled states. Meanwhile, one of the pictures of Krishnakumar’s daughters posing in hijab has been shared on Twitter by Dr Zafarul Islam Khan – senior journalist, editor of The Milli Gazette and former chief of Delhi Minorities Commission. The post has received mixed reactions.
Muslim students fighting for their right to wear hijab approached the court after failing to convince the BJP government. The students lost their legal battle in the Karnataka High Court and they have now challenged the decision in the Supreme Court of India.
