Bengal court summons Amit Shah after Mamata’s nephew files defamation case

A legal battle has also started in the election heat of West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee, MP and nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has filed a defamation case against Home Minister Amit Shah. It will be heard in the special court on Monday.

The case relates to allegations of corruption leveled by Amit Shah on Abhishek Banerjee during a rally in 2018. On February 22, Amit Shah has been summoned by a special court constituted to hear the cases of MP-MLAs.

The defamation petition filed by Banerjee said that Amit Shah had accused him of corruption during the BJP’s ‘Yuva Swabhiman Rally’ in Kolkata on 11 August 2018. Banerjee said that he has tarnished his image by accusing him of corruption. According to the petition, Shah had said, Narada, Sharda, Rose Valley, Syndicate Corruption, Corruption of Nephew. Mamata Banerjee has committed corruption continuously. Apart from this, Banerjee has also cited another statement of Shah in the petition.

You should know that before the elections in West Bengal, the political stir has intensified. There are frequent rallies and visits of BJP leaders in the state. Amit and Mamta Banerjee had rallies on Thursday. Shah is also in West Bengal on Friday. PM Modi is also going to Kolkata on 25 February.

Mamta challenged Amit Shah to compete with Abhishek

Recently, Mamta Banerjee had attacked Amit Shah at a rally and said that before taking me from the front, Shah should face my nephew Abhishek. If you have the courage, then show them by contesting against Abhishek Banerjee. Elections are to be held in the state in the next few months.
