A legal battle has also started in the election heat of West Bengal. Abhishek Banerjee, MP and nephew of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has filed a defamation case against Home Minister Amit Shah. It will be heard in the special court on Monday.

The defamation petition filed by Banerjee said that Amit Shah had accused him of corruption during the BJP’s ‘Yuva Swabhiman Rally’ in Kolkata on 11 August 2018. Banerjee said that he has tarnished his image by accusing him of corruption. According to the petition, Shah had said, Narada, Sharda, Rose Valley, Syndicate Corruption, Corruption of Nephew.
