‘Bar’ word covered with black tape from Smriti Irani’s daughter’s restaurant board after the controversy of illegal license gain momentum

The word ‘bar’ was removed on Sunday from the alleged bar in Goa of Union minister Smriti Irani’s daughter which has sparked controversy. But when the Youth Congress removed the paper from that hidden word, then the bar started appearing there again. The entire video is viral on social media. Meanwhile, Union Minister Irani has sent defamation notices to Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh, Pawan Kheda etc.

Congress leaders held a press conference on Saturday alleging that Smriti Irani’s daughter runs a bar in Goa with an illegal license in the name of a dead man. After this allegation from Congress, Smriti Irani also called a press conference and brought tears in her eyes and said that since she has accused Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, she is being surrounded. Union Minister Irani said that her daughter has no bar in Goa. She had also threatened to see Congress leaders in court.

Smriti Irani on Sunday sent legal notices to three Congress leaders and her party alleging that her 18-year-old daughter was running an “illegal bar” in Goa. The legal notice has been sent to Pawan Khera, Jairam Ramesh and leader D’Souza of the opposition party.

The Union minister has demanded an unconditional written apology and withdrawal of the allegations against his daughter from the Congress with immediate effect.

Youth Congress leaders and workers on Sunday released a video of Smriti Irani’s alleged Bar in Goa where the word bar was hidden outside the building. In the presence of policemen, the Congress leaders removed the tape on the hidden word, where the ‘Bar’ was written.

In a press conference on Saturday, Irani challenged Congress leaders to show proof of any wrongdoing by her daughter. Irani had threatened Congress leaders that she would seek answers in the court of law and the court of the people.

In a statement, the counsel for Smriti Irani’s daughter has stated that her client is neither the owner nor operating the restaurant named Silly Souls Goa and has not received any show cause notice from any authority as alleged.

The Congress shared a copy of the show cause notice served to the bar and alleged that the excise officer who gave the notice was being transferred allegedly after pressure from the authorities. Party spokesperson Pawan Khera has claimed that the license of the bar has been taken in the name of a person who has been dead for more than a year.
