Bajrang Dal threatens Comedian Munawar Faruqui of consequences if he doesn’t cancel his shows in Gujarat

Bajrang Dal has threatened to not allow stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui’s proposed show to take place in Gujarat next month. Local leaders of Hinduist outfit Bajrang Dal have said that comedian Munawar Faruqui, known for his objectionable remarks on Hindu gods, will not be allowed to perform the show here. Bajrang Dal workers have threatened him ahead of his Gujarat tour next month. Bajrang Dal has warned that they will never allow Munawar Faruqui to perform shows in Gujarat.

Let us tell you that on September 12, stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui shared information about the proposed Gujarat tour from his social media account. On the Gujarat tour, Munawar Faruqui has planned to perform in Surat on 1 October, in Ahmedabad on 2 October and Vadodara on 3 October. According to local media reports, now before the program, Gujarat Bajrang Dal has issued a warning asking Munawar Faruqui not to do the program.

It is being told that Jwalit Mehta, President of North Gujarat Bajrang Dal has also released a video regarding this. According to reports, the video states that the organizers of the event are going to organize shows of so-called comedian Munawar Faruqui in different parts of the state.

He said, “Munawar Faruqui has made objectionable remarks against Hindu gods and goddesses. He does comedy to hurt Hindu faith and sentiments of Hindus. Hindus have been tolerant till now so facing it. However, Bajrang Dal is not tolerant. Bajrang Dal knows how to respond.”

Jwalat Mehta further said that we will not allow a single show of Munawar Faruqui in Gujarat. Bajrang Dal is appealing to the organizers of the show to cancel all the shows. But even if the show is planned, they must be prepared to face the financial, mental and physical consequences.

“You have to be ready to face the consequences. Whatever happens, we will not allow even a single Munawar Faruqui show to happen in Gujarat,” Mehta threatened. However, some media reports said that when Jwalit Mehta was asked about the organisers, he said that he did not know who was the organizer of the event organized by Faruqui.

Let us inform that stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui was arrested on January 1 this year for allegedly making objectionable remarks about Hindu gods and goddesses. Four other people were also arrested along with him at that time.

A case was registered against Munawar Faruqui on the complaint of a BJP worker. Munawar Faruqui was later granted interim bail by the Supreme Court.
