The farmer movement, which has been going on in India for more than two months, has now become a cause for discussion even at the international level. Following the tweet of pop singer Rihana and environmental activist Greta, there is a campaign to save the country from the influence of outsiders in India. From Virat Kohli to veteran and star players like Sachin Tendulkar, Indian fans are appealing to the Indian fans to maintain solidarity in such times.
Meanwhile, American football star Juju Smith-Schuster has also come out in support of this farmer movement. He not only supported the farmers by tweeting but also donated money for the farmers.
Earlier, popstar Rihanna tweeted and said that why are we not talking about the farmers’ movement happening in India. After this tweet, a separate battle started on Twitter.
Footballer Juju Smith-Schuster donated money
Indian cricketers are advising the government to implement the demand, while American footballer Juju Smith-Schuster was seen standing towards the farmers. Juju Smith-Schuster plays in the National Football League(NFL) and is one of the stalwarts. He has donated 10 thousand dollars i.e. about seven and a half lakh rupees for this movement.
He wrote in his tweet, ‘Happy to share that I’ve donated $10,000 to provide medical assistance to the farmers in need in India to help save lives during these times. I hope we can prevent any additional life from being lost.’
Players advised to accept the government’s appeal
International celebrities including Greta Thunberg, niece of US Vice President Kamala Harris, pop star Rihanna, have supported farmers’ demonstrations against the country’s new agricultural laws.
There was a lot of controversy on this and even the Foreign Ministry gave advice to such foreign personalities not to interfere in the internal issues of India. After the Ministry of External Affairs, many star players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Anil Kumble, Suresh Raina, Shikhar Dhawan also used the hashtag #indiaagainstpropaganda to tell fans that they should not listen to outsiders.
