Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film ‘Ram Setu’ has finally hit the theaters. The audience was eagerly waiting for this film. The film, which released on Diwali, has failed to take advantage of the festival holiday. Ever since the advance booking figures came out, trade analysts were speculating that the film would take a below average opening. Now, this guess of experts has now proved to be true. The first day collection figures of ‘Ram Setu’ have been revealed. The film has barely touched 10 percent of its cost on Opening Day.
The film, which released a day after Diwali, could not get the benefit of the holiday. As per the initial figures, the film has made a slow start on the very first day. The film has collected 15.25 crores on Tuesday. The film’s collection is not satisfactory despite the presence of superstars like Akshay Kumar along with the festive season. Let us tell you that this film has been released on a total of 3000 screens. The film has received mixed reviews from critics.
At the same time, people’s reactions are also mixed. At the box office, it is competing with another superstar of the industry, Ajay Devgan’s film Thank God. Apart from Akshay, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nusrat Bharucha, Satya Dev, Shubham and Nasir have also worked in Ram Setu. The writer and director of the film is Abhishek Sharma.
Made in a budget of more than 200 crores, this film has been able to collect only 15 crores on the first day. Let us tell you that after giving three consecutive flops in 2022, this was Akshay Kumar’s last attempt of the year. However, seeing the earnings of the first day, it seems that this film might meet the same fate as Akshay’s other films. But it is too early to say now.
Earlier, Abhishek had directed the 2020 film ‘Suraj Par Mangal Bhari’. Actors like Manoj Bajpayee, Diljit Dosanjh and Fatima Sana Shaikh were seen in the film. However, his film did not do well at the box office. On the other hand, talking about Akshay Kumar, this year has not been good for the ‘Khiladi’ of Bollywood. Prior to this, three of his films Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj and Raksha Bandhan were flops on the big screen.
