‘Samrat Prithviraj’ box-office collection: Akshay Kumar, Manushi Chhillar, Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt starrer film ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ is not doing well at the box office. The film was released in theaters on June 3, 2022. Till the weekend, Akshay Kumar’s film kept hold, but as soon as Monday came, there was a huge drop in the collection of the film. The film’s earnings have fallen by 50% on the fourth day(Monday) as compared to the opening day.
With a drop on Monday, it’s curtains down as the lifetime total of the film will be around Rs. 75 crore. This will be a low total given that the budget is around the Rs. 300 crore mark. It will also be among the rare Yash Raj Films Production that will lose money, despite the huge back end deals with digital and satellite players.
The shows of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ remained empty on Monday morning in many cities. As per reports, Samrat Prithviraj has seen a massive drop in occupancy over morning shows on its first Monday. In fact, it is being said that the film saw occupancy pegged at just 9% and some shows had to be canceled due to lack of audience. Among the cities where ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ shows were canceled are Prayagraj, Akola, Raigad and Satara among others.
Samrat Prithviraj, written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is based on the life of Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan. The film started slow on the first day, but slowly gained momentum on Saturday and Sunday. As per initial business reports, Samrat Prithviraj saw a huge drop in box-office collection on its first Monday morning shows. The collection on the fourth day of the film is estimated to be around Rs 4-5 crore.

‘Samrat Prithviraj’ had earned 39 crores in the first weekend. On the first Monday, the film did a business of 4.85-5.15 crores. Till now the film has earned a total of 44 crores. A lot was expected to happen in collaboration with big production houses like Yash Raj Films and A-list actors like Akshay Kumar. However, the film is getting sluggish day by day at the box office.
