Ahead Of Adampur By-Election, Rape Convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Gets 40 Days Parole

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, convicted in a rape case, has been granted parole for 40 days. After which he reached Dera Sacha Sauda Ashram in Barnawa, Uttar Pradesh.

This step has been taken just before the Adampur assembly by-election. The by-elections in Adampur are to be held on November 3.

After getting parole, Ram Rahim reached Barnawa Ashram on Saturday morning. Preparations have been made in the ashram to welcome the Dera chief for his arrival. At the same time, as soon as he reached Barnawa Sacha Sauda Ashram, Dera chief Gurmeet Singh came live on social media and gave a message to his followers. He appealed to all the followers to maintain discipline and not to indulge in any kind of stampede.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Gets 40 Days Parole

Ram Rahim is lodged in Rohtak’s Sunaria Jail since 2017. He got 21 days parole during the Punjab elections. During which he was staying in the Dera in Gurugram. After that he got 30 days parole which was spent in the Dera located in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. This time 40 days parole has been approved for the Dera chief.

Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the court after being found guilty in the Ranjit Singh murder case. He will serve the sentence till his last breath. Along with Gurmeet, 4 other convicts have also been given the same punishment. These include Jasbir, Sabdil, Inder Sen, Avtar and Kishan Lal. Of these accused, Inder Sen died in 2020.
