These days Akshay Kumar is seen struggling continuously at the box office. Earlier big films like Bellbottom, Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj and recently ‘Rakshabandhan’ proved to be flops at the box office. In such a situation, Akshay Kumar has decided that he will release his next film Kathputli (old name ‘Mission Cinderella’) on OTT instead of theater.
In the trailer launch of ‘Cutputli’, Akshay Kumar’s tone was seen a little changed from before. He was freely seen talking openly on back to back films flopping, turning to OTT and other topics. Talking to reporters, he clearly said that if his films don’t work, then it is his fault.
In the last few interviews, Khiladi Kumar was very strict about the trollers. He had said that those who call him Canada Kumar or troll for some other reason. It doesn’t matter to him. But recently in the trailer launch of Puppet, his tone changed. When the journalist questioned Akshay Kumar about his continuously flopping films and adopting a safe path like OTT, Akshay Kumar was seen very softly admitting the mistake of himself and other actors.
Akshay Kumar said, “If our films are not working then it’s my fault. I have to understand what the audience wants from me. I need to make changes.” Talking about adopting the path of OTT, he said, “It is not a matter of safe way. OTT is also a medium of people. It is our job to make films for them too.”
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar has also brought back to back films. Like Bachchan Pandey in March, Samrat Prithviraj in June and Rakshabandhan in August. Regarding this, in the press conference, a journalist asked Akshay Kumar that exactly how much gap should there be between two films? On this, the actor said that due to the Corona period, the films of many people were not released. Because of this many films got accumulated. This would never have happened if there was no corona. Like, about four films of my own are ready but not released. This led to back to back releases. Otherwise there should usually be a gap of 3-4 months between one film to another.
Kutputli will be released on OTT on this day
Rakul Preet Singh will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in ‘Katputli’. The film will be released on 2 September 2022 on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar. It is directed by Ranjit Tiwari.
