“Modi Hatao Desh Bachao” Posters Row: Delhi Police registered 44 cases and arrested 4 people after thousands of posters demanding removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were found in the national capital. Two of the four arrested have a printing press. Police on Tuesday removed nearly 2,000 ‘anti-Modi’ posters from several places in Delhi in a major drive. Most of these posters had the slogan ‘Modi Hatao Desh Bachao’ (Remove Modi, save country) written on them.
Delhi Police seized another 2,000 posters which were allegedly being delivered to the Aam Aadmi Party office. Police found 2,000 posters when a van was stopped in the IP Estate area. The driver told the police that he was instructed to take the posters to the AAP headquarters.
He said that he had delivered a similar consignment on Monday as well. So far there has been no response from the Aam Aadmi Party. Arrested printing press owners tell Delhi Police that they have received orders to print 50,000 ‘Modi Hatao Desh Bachao’ posters.

As soon as the news of the police action spread, the opposition attacked the government. The Aam Aadmi Party shared the poster’s content on Twitter, questioning why Prime Minister Modi filed 100 F.I.R.s against it. The party expressed surprise that the PM was frightened by just one poster in a democratic country like India.
