20 BJP office-bearers quit in Beed, Maharashtra as no berth for Pritam Munde in union cabinet

After the expansion of the Union Council of Ministers, more than 20 local BJP office-bearers of the Bharatiya Janata Party have resigned in Maharashtra over the disenchantment of Pritam Munde Khade, MP from Beed district of Maharashtra, in the cabinet. A local leader gave this information on Sunday.

He told that the BJP councilors of Ambajogai, along with Beed Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti, have left for Mumbai to submit their resignations. The leader said those who have resigned in the last two days include a member of the Beed Zilla Parishad and a member of the Panchayat Samiti.

Apart from this, BJP District General Secretary, Youth Unit President, District Vice President, Tehsil President and District Vice President of BJP Youth Unit have submitted their resignations to BJP District President Rajendra Maske.

BJP Beed district general secretary Sarjerao Tandale said that Pritam Munde was going to get a place in the cabinet, but her name was dropped at the last minute. Thousands of BJP workers wanted to see Pritam Munde inducted into the cabinet. Their dreams were shattered when her name did not figure in the final list. I am resigning from the post in protest.

However, BJP national general secretary Pankaja Munde has denied reports that she is upset over not including her sister and MP Pritam Munde in the council of ministers. Earlier, Pankaja had also said that she is confident that Pritam will be given a place in the cabinet.

Pankaja had made it clear that any decision taken by the party would be acceptable to her and her sister as she is a dedicated worker of the party. Meanwhile, sources have revealed that Pankaja will meet party workers on Tuesday and convince them to withdraw her resignation.
