It is still a mystery whose money was invested in the Adani Group companies. TMC MP Mahua Moitra attacked the Modi government and asked if they would answer this in the Parliament.
Mahua wrote in her tweet – 2 weeks & we still don’t know whose money in Adani cos. Security clearance imperative to takeover Mumbai airport. If so, Home Ministry clearly knows who owns shares. Nation would certainly like to know. She took sarcasm and said that perhaps the Government of India will answer these questions in Parliament itself.
Adani Group is in constant discussion. In mid-June, news of the freezing of the Demat accounts of three foreign investors of the Adani Group emerged. After this, there was a huge fall in the shares of all the group companies. After this, the shares of Adani Group fell 25 percent.
The statement from Gautam Adani Group said that it has an explanation in NSDL e-mail that these three foreign accounts have not been frozen. Such news is completely misleading and wrong. These three foreign funds are the top shareholders in the group companies.
On the other hand, Adani’s troubles are not taking the name of ending. Now they have got another blow. Norway’s largest pension fund KLP Company, which has invested in his Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, has suddenly pulled out. KLP now wants to exit the project. According to KLP, the company has links with the Myanmar military which is against its policies.
